科技文献利用率不高的原因是多方面的,主要是外语水平低,检索能力差,科研任务少,读者不熟悉馆藏,在高校教师只满足于常规教学,学生自学能力差等等。不难看出,要想提高科技文献的利用率,必须对上述问题进行深入的探讨。一、提高外语水平外语水平低,在我国带有普遍的现象。在科技人员中,能流畅、翻译和阅读外文资料约占整个科技人员的10％左右。而现在科技文献发展的特点之一是文献语种不断扩大。据国外统计,科技期刊的语种分布是:英语占46％,俄语占14％,德语占10％,其他语
