传奇指挥家切利比达克在中国被昵称为切利。他生前特立独行,未允许自己的一张唱片进入商业市场。他去世后,指挥家的儿子违背父亲遗愿,唱片和DVD如泄闸洪水般地涌出,在全球掀起一股切利比达克效应。昔日只可远观的神明一般的人物,如今成了一棵摇钱树兼一块金字招牌,引得众人竟相折腰。生前,旁听切利课的人很多,其中尤以亚洲人更多。于是乎全球一下子冒出了很多自称为切利学生的指挥家。上海有一位韩国女指挥,自称如此。前几年河北交响乐团的指挥本哈德也声称是他的学生,然而由于乐手们水平有限,一大批人根本不知切利是何方神圣,连神话崇拜的机会都没有。3月份,上海来了一位德国指挥家,指挥上海交响乐团演出了布鲁克纳《第四交响曲》和西贝柳斯《小提琴协奏曲》。他是切利比达克的嫡传弟子,被切利亲口称为“自己最好的学生”。他就是伯纳德·奎勒。本刊对他做了如下专访。
