Cofilin2,an actin-binding protein,is expressed in many eukaryotic cells.It binds to and depolymerizes the actin filaments,and its activity is regulated by phosphorylation,dephosphorylation,and pH [1].Cofilins have been reported to have multiple functions,including cytokinesis,cell locomotion [2],cellular stress responses [3],and pathological situations [4].Under normal conditions,cofilins can regulate the reorganization of actin.Cofilins can also alter the cell function in response to stress conditions through binding with actin.Other functions of cofilins remain to be explored.
