湘油5号原名73—2,是我所于1970年春用1074作母本,306作父本进行杂交,经两次单株、一次少数优良单株混合选育而成。湘油5号于1974—1975两年参加湖南省油菜品种区域试验,1977—1978两年参加全国(华中区)油菜品种区域试验,在多数试验单位名列前茅。1975年定名并向生产上推广。在湖南省的湘潭县良湖大队,攸县丹塘大队,长沙县干杉公社稻稻油三熟制地区大面积试种示范,一般亩产180—200斤,高的达356.4斤,现已成为湖南省稻稻油三熟制地区的当家品种,播种面积约140万亩,主要分布在湘中地区,以长沙、望城、湘潭和攸县等地最多。生育特性:湘油5号幼苗半直
