Objective: To observe the changes of thyroid function, pancreatic secretion and testosterone in patients with dihydroetorphine addiction. Methods: The contents of TSH, T3, T4, C-peptide, insulin and testosterone in 11 male DHEA and 29 male heroin addicts and 26 normal controls were measured by radioimmunoassay. Results: Compared with the normal control group, the TSH and T3 decreased significantly (P <0.01), the C peptide and insulin increased significantly (P <0.01), the levels of T4 decreased, the levels of testosterone increased, The difference was not significant (P> 0.05). Compared with the heroin group, there was no significant decrease in T3 (P> 0.05); the levels of TSH and T4 decreased significantly (P <0.01); the C peptide, insulin and testosterone increased significantly (P <0. 01). CONCLUSION: Thyroid function is inhibited by dihydroetorphine addicts and the secretion of pancreatic and testosterone is increased
