应不应当以作文为中心组织语文教学?人们的看法是有分歧的。有的同志不赞成以作文为中心组织语文教学,认为这样做会忽视对语文基础知识的训练;认为这种作法只能在重点中学试验,而不能在普通中学推广。其实,以作文为中心组织语文教学,正是针对当前那种读写脱节和以思想教育为中心来安排语文教学的现状提出来的。以作文为中心组织语文教学,就是把作文放在语文教学的重要地位上,把阅读和写作紧密结合起来。下面,我想谈谈我在这方面的体会。
There should be disagreements among people on the issue of organizing Chinese language teaching with the composition as the center. Some comrades disapproved of organizing Chinese language teaching centered on essays. They believed that doing so would ignore the training of basic knowledge of the language; they believed that this practice could only be tested in key middle schools and not in ordinary schools. As a matter of fact, organizing Chinese teaching with the composition as the center is based on the current status of literacy and ideological education as the center to arrange language teaching. To organize language teaching centered on essay writing is to place essays on the important position of Chinese language teaching and integrate reading and writing closely. Below, I would like to talk about my experience in this area.
