People often say that water and fire are incompatible. Water can extinguish fires. This is common knowledge, but this is only general, but it cannot be all-embracing. Why can water extinguish? This needs to be explained by the chemical reaction. We know that any substance that can burn requires two conditions: the ignition point of the substance and the air. In the absence of any condition, the fire will go out. When ordinary materials are burned, the water splashes on the fire and can quickly drop the temperature to below the ignition point. It can also separate the combustion from the air. Because of the lack of oxygen in the air, the fire is extinguished.
