高尔夫是一项植根于大自然,既亲和又爱护自然的运动。高尔夫球场占地空间大,选址讲究,设计建造也是依其自然地势,配合山丘、树林、岩石、溪流、湖泊等自然景观精雕细琢修造而成。好的球场是自然、建筑与园林完美结合的产物。高尔夫是根据英文 Golf 音译而来。很多人这样解释:G 代表绿色(Green),O 代表氧气(oxygen),L 代表阳光(light),F 代表步行(foot),它形象地表现出打高尔夫是在绿色环绕的大自然中,沐浴阳光踏青挥杆。
