彩虹明樱蛤[Moerlla iridescens(Benson)]俗称海瓜子、瓜子蛤、扁蛤,属软体动物门,瓣鳃纲、真瓣鳃目、樱蛤科,为常见小型滩涂贝类,其肉细嫩、味鲜美,素为沿海群众喜食。盛产于我国浙江、福建两省,渤海湾的河北、黄海南部的山东、江苏也颇为习见。资源量以浙江北部居多,全省资源蕴藏量估计在4000吨左右,地处浙南的温州沿海约500吨,垂直分布于中潮带线下5米左右的海底,以中潮带中下区和低潮带上区为多。
