1948年秋,我们这支由广东人民抗日游击队东江纵队北撤山东后组建成的华东野战军两广纵队,奉命参加济南战役。济南是山东省的省会,是敌人在山东最后的一个战略据点。拿下济南府,山东除青岛、徐州外,全境得解放,华东野战军、中原野战军便可会同南下,并肩作战,肃清长江以北之敌。部队从河南省柘城义门集地区向北挺进,横跨陇海路,到达山东汶上南站地区集结待命。从解放战争一开始,我们两广纵队就在山东境内作战,广大指战员为能参加拔除山东敌人最后一个巢穴,解放全山东的最后一战而热血沸腾,战士们心里象烧着一团火,兴奋激动,求战心切。
