I. Classification of the World’s Distance Education System According to statistics provided by UNESCO, there are currently 600 million young people and adults in the world who attend traditional schools at all levels; in addition, 10 million attend school at distance education schools, of which One in three students in the Soviet Union and China. The tens of millions of students at distance education schools have traveled virtually every country in the world today. They are located in remote schools of various forms, some as small as only a few dozen students, such as the Schools of Air in Australia, some hundreds of thousands of students such as Thailand’s Open University and China Radio and Television University. Due to the diversity of educational forms, it is not appropriate to discuss the World Distance Education School as a whole. Therefore, a general classification of the various forms of distance education institutions in the world today is a very necessary task.
