The wettability and floatability of several natural hydrophobic minerals were investigated by aqueous methanol solution with various tensions. The critical surface tension r of the samples was measured. Test data provided with floatability r_ (cf) indicate that flotation feeds to mines can not be represented by a single definition r_c (cf). It is appropriate to specify a floatable critical surface tension range for natural hydrophobic solids (upper limit of tension range r_ (cmf), lower limit r_ (cef)).
