A total of 109 elderly patients with bacterial infections from our hospital from August 1994 to January 1995 were studied, including 67 males and 42 females, with an average age of 67.82 and 15.97 years old. 112 strains of bacteria, Staphylococcus and Escherichia coli accounted for 53.6% of the total. Their pathogens are highly resistant to most commonly used antibiotics. Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli are resistant to ciprofloxacin at 50%.
