一九四六年二月,我到南阳《前锋报》编辑部工作,从此开始了报人生涯。时光易逝,转眼之间已是四十年了。往事是短暂的,记忆则是恒久的。四十年前一位未曾见过面的挚友的情谊,至今仍然深刻地留在我的记忆里。《前锋报》创刊于一九四二年元旦,被迫停刊于一九四七年十一月十七日。它是李静之社长苦心经营的一家民办进步报纸,办报的宗旨是“仗义执言,为民前锋”。发行量最高时达到一万来份,主要发行在豫西南、鄂北和陕南地区,深受广大读者的欢迎,具有相当大的影响。因此,它得到我们党和进步人士的关注和支持,也屡遭国民党反动派的种种迫害。
In February 1946, I went to the editorial department of “Front” in Nanyang and started my career as a reporter. Time flies, an instant has been 40 years. The past is short, the memory is long-lasting. The friendship of a close friend 40 years ago who has never met before has still remained profoundly in my memory. The “Vanguard” was first published in New Year’s Day in 1942 and was forced to stop publication on November 17, 1947. It is a privately-run progressive newspaper run by the president, President Li Jing. The purpose of running a newspaper is to “uphold justice and act as a striker for the people.” The highest circulation reached 10,000 copies, mainly distributed in southwestern Henan, northern Hubei and southern Shaanxi, welcomed by the majority of readers, has a considerable impact. Therefore, it has received the attention and support of our party and progressive people and has repeatedly suffered various persecutions by the Kuomintang reactionaries.
