全世界最好的短跑选手都在盯着他的腿,对人们异样的目光他毫不介意。他一直在改进步姿,他的3个模仿对象——约翰逊、蒙哥马利和鲍威尔,全是著名的健全人短跑选手。在冷冰冰的奥运报名成绩面前,奥斯卡·皮斯托瑞斯一次次发起冲击,一次次无功而返。或许,又是一个四年甚至更长的时间才能圆他的奥运梦,然而,无论怎样,他已经向世人证明了“更快更高更强”不只是健全人的专利。他依旧来到了北京,只不过换了一个战场继续战斗—在9月的残奥会上,他将向男子100米、200米和400米的金牌发起冲击。
