为了加速我国当代秘书学建设，传播秘书学基本理论和基本知识，促进秘书理论与实践的发展，更好地为建设有中国特色的社会主义服务，由中国管理科学院政党学与秘书学研究所和全国高校秘书书学会学术委员会倡议主办，深圳运通企业集团资助协办，武汉大学、湖北大学、上海大学文学院、江汉大学和四川省秘书学研究会、广西秘书刊工作者协会、重庆市秘书学会、大庆市秘书学会、云南省秘书学会以及《秘书》、《秘书之友》、《广东秘书工作》、《领导与秘书》、《秘书界》、《厂长与秘书》、《秘书之声》、《企业秘书》杂志编辑部等单位联合发起的第二届中国秘书杯——运通杯秘书学龄前论著评奖活动，于1994年4月21日在湖北大学进行，历时七天，4月27日评奖圆满结束。
