《水浒传》作为一本经典的中国传统英雄体小说,不仅在国内文学史上占有重要的历史地位,也历来被各国学者研究与探讨,其英文译文也不在少数,其中最为人称道的要数赛珍珠最早的《四海之内皆兄弟》译本和沙博理的Outlaw of The Marshes版本。赛珍珠翻译作品在美国曾盛极一时,很多英汉学家对其译作有过很多研究。在此,本文主要研究赏析沙博理先生一百回的译本。通过对其翻译风格、原则以及用词造句体现的文化差异作简要的鉴赏与分析,以期对以后中国古典文学的翻译实践提供借鉴与指导意义。
As a classic Chinese hero body novel, Outlaws of the Marsh not only occupies an important historical position in the history of domestic literature, but also has been studied and discussed by scholars from all over the world. Its English translation is also not uncommon. Pearl’s earliest “brothers and sisters” version and Shapiro’s Outlaw of The Marshes version. Pearl S. Buck’s works have flourished in the United States, and many English-Chinese scholars have done a lot of research on their translations. In this paper, this paper mainly studies and appreciates the 100-year-old version of Mr. Shabo Li. Through a brief appreciation and analysis of its translation style and principle as well as the cultural differences reflected in the usage of the sentence, with a view to provide references and guiding significance for the future translation of Chinese classical literature.
