作品之一《春天的微笑》无论怎样看,都是在微笑,这只能永远看到它的表面。她没有眼睛的头部形体,被青铜表层包住,有人说在整个造型的基础上吸收了民族传统。不错,我不反传统,但我不会去求其表层。这种民族传统不是教你如何去学,民族之精神本来就在你自己的骨子里,不用刻意去学也会自然体现出来,也用不着老用一张民族大网将自己套住。我想这种探索、挖掘还是自我的认识过程中的问题。认识自我是很难的,哪怕是一点点,要逃出这张大网,也就是“逃出这悲惨的山谷,”走到人类的世界文化之中去。我希望弘扬中国的民族文化,但不是走过去的路,这个文化在不断步入国门的外来文化冲击下发生变化。文化是开放的,因为这是人类的精神。
