大力发展洁净煤技术，是我国煤炭工业实施可持续发展的重要组成部分。从煤炭加工、燃烧、发电、转化和污染物控制技术等方面阐述了我国各项洁净煤技术的应用现状和发展方向；并认为我国煤炭工业发展洁净煤技术的捷径是在有条件的矿区利用有限的投入，采用成熟、可靠的工艺、技术，生产市场需要的产品，建设有发展前途的工业基地。
