RCC for heavy-duty pavement (RCC) development, in a relatively short period of time has come a long way. Its development in the United States is still in its infancy, and is still in the learning process of production. Most of the papers published in this issue of “International Concrete” were originally presented at the American Society of Concrete (ACI) conference in San Francisco in March 1985. These papers document the history and development of the RCC pavement before then. In his article on the Denver Intersection Facility in Northern Burlington, Palmer introduced the design and construction techniques for a heavy load “pack back” transhipment facility built on May 6, 1986
