The GPS Global Positioning Satellite System is a time (clock) system based on a period of 1024 weeks. At midnight on August 21, 1999, the time (clock) system will be recirculated to zero for the first time and will repeat approximately every 20 years. This problem has been widely concerned by GPS designers and users. The satellite transmitting GPS signal has no problem itself. It does not modify certain parameters, but the support system using GPS data must be adapted to the 1024 week problem. Some systems in the U.S. government department do not have to worry because they plan to change the current system of time. GPS-enabled software is not associated with most handheld navigation tools but is part of a host of enterprise and factory applications.
