环境教育是素质教育的一个重要组成部分。环境教育已成为世界教育的一共同课题,同时环境教育被认为是一个贯穿整个教育领域的教育过程。幼小衔接阶段是基础教育的一个关键时期,这个时期所形成的环境态度、情感、技能等对其成长过程中环境综合素质的发展和提高极为重要。环境意识、生态文明是现代文明的重要组成部分,对现代儿童来说,必须具备一定的环境素质,才符合现代社会对每个人基本素质的普遍要求,从这个意义上讲,环境教育是现代素质教育的基本内容之一。
