上个世纪80、90年代,我国美术教育界有“四大中专”之说,分别是北京工艺美校、上海工艺美校、苏州工艺美校、厦门工艺美校。这四大工艺美校虽不如八大美院培养了众多声名赫赫的艺术家,但也为当时社会培养了大量实用美术人才,对于社会审美的发展起了巨大的作用。苏州工艺美校历史可上溯至民国颜文樑在苏州沧浪亭所创的苏州美专,1958年苏州市又在拙政园建立苏州工艺美校专科
80s and 90s of last century, China’s art education has “Four Major ” said, respectively, the Beijing Arts and Crafts School, Shanghai Arts and Crafts School, Suzhou Arts and Crafts School, Xiamen Arts and Crafts School.
