1985年元月14日,一幢高54米,造型与色彩引人注目的高层建筑——昆明科技文化楼,在昆明市中心东风广场西侧的南太桥头落成了。这座被人们比喻为“宛如停靠在盘龙江边的巨大帆船”的大厦,建成一年来使用效果良好,吸引了众多的省内外建筑工作者和国际友人前往参观,得到了好评。胡耀邦总书记亲笔为大楼书写的《云南美术馆》几个金色的大字,镶嵌在正面墙上,更为大厦增添了光彩(图1)。
On January 14th, 1985, a 54-meter-high high-rise building with striking shapes and colors, the Kunming Science and Technology Culture Building, was completed in Nantaiqiaotou on the west side of Dongfeng Square in downtown Kunming. This building, which has been compared to “a giant sailing ship anchored on the edge of the Panlong River,” has been used for a good one year, attracting many construction workers and international friends from both inside and outside the province to visit and gain praise. The golden letters of the “Yunnan Museum of Art” handwritten by General Secretary Hu Yaobang for the building were embedded on the front wall and added glory to the building (Figure 1).
