Japan’s Kagawa Plant has developed a hot water supply system using a heat pump-boiler combination that efficiently uses heat energy. The system generates 240°C superheated steam from the boiler and generates power through the steam turbine. It directly drives the compressor on the side of the heat pump cycle to compress the freon gas at 30°C into a high-pressure gas at a saturation pressure of 55°C. High-pressure gas exchanges heat with the water supply through the condenser and supplies it at 30°C.
