Seven national standards for nanomaterials came into force on April 1, 2005. This is the first nanomaterial standard in the world to be implemented as a national standard. Li Zhonghai, director of the National Standards Commission, pointed out at a news conference that the implementation of the seven standards for nanomaterials will guide and standardize the market order for nanomaterials in our country and promote the industrialization of nanomaterials. Li Zhonghai pointed out that the commercialization and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements in the world today are getting shorter and shorter cycles. Nanomaterials are the basis for the widespread use of nanotechnology and also form part of the most practical application of nanotechnology.
