Objective To observe the endodermis-like structure of deciduous dentin tubules and to explore the relationship between its structure and its surrounding tissues and its corresponding functions. Methods Scanning and transmission electron microscopy of 16 deciduous dentinal tubules and their wall fibers were observed. Results The deciduous dentin tubule wall matrix fibers were arranged both in parallel with the tubules and interwoven into the mesh. After acid treatment of dentin, found in the small tube wall and odontoblast cell protrusions, there is a layer of tubular membrane-like structure exists. This structure may be composed of ungrouped or calcified peritumoral matrix fibers and odontoblasts branching. Conclusion The tubular membranous structure may be involved in regulating the mineralization of the dentinal tubule wall, which in turn prevents occlusion of the dentinal tubules due to excessive calcification.
