As a traditional European painting, oil paintings were brought into China as early as the Ming Dynasty by European missionaries. In the early Qing Dynasty, there were many European missionary painters such as Castiglione, G. And Attiret (J.-C.) Among the court painters. Their oil paintings were quite appreciated by the emperor, but their Oil painting skills are not accepted by Chinese painters. On the other hand, when the coastal cities of Macao, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shanghai successively became the trading ports, some European painters came to China with businessmen. The most famous of these was the English painter Chinnery, who was in Macau, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and other places for about 20 years. Their painting skills and oil paintings spread in the private sector. Following the example of local painters of these European painters, they became the earliest Chinese painters engaged in the creation and sale of oil paintings. Guan Zuolin Guangdong, Guan Qiao Chang is one of the famous oil painter. It can be said that the coastal city is engaged in the tourism of the painters, opened the prelude to the development of Chinese oil painting.
