在黄土地区进行土壤侵蚀调查,地貌类型划分和土地利用规划时,确定沟谷缘线是一项十分重要的工作内容,诸如沟间地与沟谷的划分,梁峁地与沟坡地的划分,沟间地与沟谷侵蚀量的估算,都要求确定出沟谷缘线。但迄今为止,尚未有一个统一的确定沟谷缘线的标准,人们在工作中只凭各自的认识和经验来确定。由于每个人的认识和经验不同,加之黄土地形的复杂性,所得出的结果有时相差甚远。粗略估计,对于地形较为复杂的沟道流域,根据不同的工作者在1/10,000地形图上勾绘的沟谷缘线量测沟间地与沟谷面积,几乎每10平方公里就有1平方公里的误差。可想而知,基于不同沟谷缘线的种种分析计算结果是不便比较的。有关确定沟谷缘线的讨论,只散见于一些其他的文章之中,专门性的论述未曾见到。我们根据几年来在杏子河流域的工作体会,经过分析讨论,提出适于该流域的确定沟谷缘线的准则及方法。

Based on our experience in the Xingzihe River Basin in recent years, we have put forward the criteria and methods for determining the valley margin suitable for the basin.
