赛珍珠（1892—1973）是美国著名女作家，原名泼尔·赛登斯屈克·布克（PearlSydentrickerBuck）。她出生仅3个月时，便随当传教士的父母来到中国，一直到1927年。其间除为接受高等教育而回国数年外，在中国生活了近30年。赛珍珠一生共写了100多部著作，其中许多是以中国题材为内容，如《大地》（三部曲）、《东风·西风》、《母亲》等，并把中国古典名著《水浒》翻译成英文（英译本书名《四海之内皆兄弟也》）。1938年获诺贝尔文学奖。1991年我国首次赛珍珠文学讨论会在镇江举行，第二次讨论会今年将在上海举行。对赛珍珠的评价历来有不少争议，本文作为一家之言，供读者察阅。
Pearl S. Buck (1892-1973) is a famous American writer and formerly known as PearlSydentrickerBuck. When she was only 3 months old, she came to China with the missionary’s parents until 1927. In addition to a few years back to higher education, living in China for nearly 30 years. Pearl Buck wrote more than 100 books in his life, many of which are based on Chinese themes such as “The Earth” (trilogy), “Dongfeng Westerly”, “Mother” and the translation of the Chinese classic “Water Margin” Into English (English translation of the title “all over the world are brothers”). 1938 Nobel Prize for Literature. The first Seminar on Pearl S. Buck in 1991 was held in Zhenjiang, and the second one will be held in Shanghai this year. Evaluation of Pearl S. Buck has always been a lot of controversy, this article as one of the words for readers to review.
