癌,从1981年就成为日本人死亡原因的第一位。癌的治疗方法,最根本的还是早期发现,早期治疗。但从“癌的预防法”来看,还没有足够重视。为了尽量减少致癌的危险性,现在正在大力开展癌的“全面预防”有关致癌的危险因子的研究有制定防癌方针。全美科学院特别委员会报告了关于“癌的预防与饮食生活”,此报告是从1980年起经过两年的时间,研究和探讨了癌和食物营养相关联的免疫学资料,动物实验资料以及变应原性试验资料等,在82年提出的报告,其中提出了暂行规定的防癌六项饮食方针。现已查明在美国总死亡者的约20%由于癌症,而因癌症死亡的约1/4是因为吸烟。
