Jack London (1876-1976) is a famous American realist writer of the 20th century, occupying an important position in the history of American literature. London uniquely portrays the powerful figures in his works. These strong figures tend to have tenacious character and indomitable perseverance, giving readers a tremendous encouragement and expressing their active attitude toward life. The Call of the Wild is a work on the image of the strong, and London shows a life-giving attitude toward life through a narrative that Buck returns to nature. The article aims to dig out the image of the strongman in this work and explore its motivation, so as to provide reference for further exploration of London.
