北京钢铁学院矿业研究所,根据冶金部矿山司下达的任务,开展梅山铁矿选矿厂尾矿综合利用的研究,直接利用细颗粒尾矿,采用石烧工艺生产系列建筑制品取得成功。可生产墙体砖、地砖、贴面砖以及装饰砖等。1987年12月1日在北京钢铁学院召开了鉴定会,会议认为铁矿尾矿石烧工艺,设备投资少,工艺技术简单,容易掌握,为综合利用尾矿开辟了途径。投入工业生产后,将会产生明显的经济、社会和环境效益。
