全长约1400 mm。通体白色,颈较体长或与体等长,在水面上经常直伸;整个身体大小都比小天鹅大。上嘴嘴基两侧黄斑沿嘴缘向前伸于鼻孔之下,上嘴嘴端和下嘴黑色,脚黑色。
