用吸光光度法测定锰,已有专著报道,但在生产中,用得最广的还是高锰酸盐光度法,此法的优点是选择性较好,方法简便,但灵敏度较低。比较灵敏的方法有PAN法(ε_(564)=5.8×10~4),双硫腙萃取光度法(ε_(510)=5.7×10~4),但这些方法的选择性都不太高,并且要用氯仿萃取。本法基于在酸性溶液中,利用高锰酸氧化甲基橙使其褪色,测定褪色前后的吸光度,求得△A,从△A与锰含量成线性关系作为测定锰的基础,从而大大提高了灵敏度。
