In the experiment of 171 rats, the relationship between serotonin (5-HT), morphine-like substance (MLF) and acupuncture analgesic effect (acupuncture effect) was analyzed. Electroacupuncture analgesic effect was observed by radiant heat flick-tail method, 5-HT content in the brain was measured by fluorescence spectrophotometry, and brain morphine-like activity was measured by radioimmunoassay.
