求职信(cover letter)是重要的求职文件之一,往往是用人单位决定取舍的第一依据,是求职者能否成功获得面试机会的重要因素,对求职者能否成功求职产生重大影响。由于文化传统、文化习惯的差异,英文求职信与汉语求职信的写作规范存在很大差异,特别是二者的语篇因果网络结构更是大相径庭。本文拟对英汉求职信的语篇因果网络结构进行比较研究,以求在理论上找出二者之间的写作范式异同,并在实践中对求职者有所裨益。
Cover letter is one of the important job documents. It is often the first basis for the employer to decide whether to make the job or not. It is an important factor that a job seeker can successfully obtain an interview and has a significant impact on whether a job seeker can succeed in finding a job. Due to the difference of cultural traditions and cultural habits, there are great differences in writing rules between English cover letters and Chinese cover letters. Especially, the textual causal network structure of the two is quite different. This thesis attempts to compare the discourse causal network structures of English and Chinese cover letters in order to find out the similarities and differences between the two writing paradigms in theory and to benefit job seekers in practice.
