目前,汽车产业已成为全球性产业。汽车制造业已经遍布于全球50个国家,年产新车在8000万辆左右。全球汽车制造业劳动力总数超过800万人,占全球制造业劳动力总数的5%。澳大利亚也是全球汽车产业的重要一员,澳大利亚汽车市场占全球车市1%左右的份额。在2011年,澳大利亚汽车进口市场中,有来自于20个国家的60多个品牌中350多款轻型汽车新车。总销量已经达到了100万辆。其中,33%是来自日本,16%是来自泰国,14%是来自韩国,亚洲其他地区占3%,其中包括中国。今年以来,澳大利亚汽车市场总产量平稳增长。不过,在总产量趋稳的情况下,进口汽车总量呈现增长趋势,本土汽车总产量反而呈现下降趋势。
At present, the automotive industry has become a global industry. Automotive manufacturing industry has been around the world in 50 countries, with an annual output of about 80 million new cars. The global automotive manufacturing workforce totals more than 8 million people, accounting for 5% of the global manufacturing workforce. Australia is also an important member of the global automotive industry. The Australian automotive market accounts for about 1% of the global auto market. In 2011, Australia imported more than 350 new light-duty vehicles from more than 60 brands in 20 countries. Total sales have reached 1 million. Of these, 33% are from Japan, 16% from Thailand, 14% from South Korea and 3% from other parts of Asia, including China. Since the beginning of this year, the total output of the Australian automotive market has been steadily increasing. However, in the case of a steady production, the total volume of imported cars showed an increasing trend, while the total domestic automobile output showed a downward trend instead.
