一、性质和学术领域世界林业科学院(英文名为The InternationalAcademy of Wood Science,简写为IAWS)是一个由木材科学家组成的非营利性的学术组织,1966年2月于巴黎成立。它包含木材科学及有关技术的一切领域,具有全世界范围的代表性。所谓“木材科学”是指木质化的(lignified)天然材料及其制品的生物学、化学和物理学性质以及生产、加工工艺的科学依据。该院涉及的科学领域及其划分如下:
I. Nature and Academic Fields The World Academy of Forestry (English name: The International Academy of Wood Science, IAWS for short) is a non-profit academic organization made up of timber scientists and was established in Paris in February 1966. It covers all areas of wood science and related technologies and has worldwide representation. The so-called “wood science ” refers to the biological, chemical and physical properties of lignified natural materials and their products, and the scientific basis of production and processing technology.
