中国传统文学教育在晚清经历了一次巨大的跌宕,伴随着西方分科教学体系的引入,传统文教模式解体,教育宗旨变成以实用为旨归,从而不断贬抑以文学为代表的传统之学,文学教育的地位一落千丈。随着社会危机的加深,国粹意识开始觉醒,文学教育的价值又重新被体认,经历了从“文学无用”到“文学救国”的戏剧性转变。西学的传播与传统文学价值的深度发掘如同两条分途并进的轨道,共同构成近代化历程中中学与西艺从碰撞到融合的图景,其中的经验与教训对当前的文学教育仍不失启示意义。
Chinese traditional literature education experienced a tremendous ups and downs in the late Qing Dynasty. Along with the introduction of the Western teaching system, the disintegration of the traditional culture and education mode and the transformation of educational purposes into practical purposes, thereby continuously derogating the traditional study represented by literature, The status of literary education has plummeted. With the deepening of the social crisis, the awareness of the quintessence of Chinese culture began to awaken. The value of literature education was once again recognized and experienced a dramatic change from “useless literature” to “literary salvation”. The dissemination of Western culture and the depth exploration of the value of traditional literature are like two tracks of progressing from one path to another, which together constitute a picture of collision and integration of middle school and western culture in the course of modernization. Experiences and lessons learned from this study still reveal the current literary education significance.
