湖南省龙山县地处湘西土家族苗族自治州的西北边陲,是全国有名的贫困县之一。近年来 这个县针对本地经济贫困的实际,研究探索出一条与特殊经济环境相适应的“教”、“养”结合的国防教育新路子,初步形成了“以教养教”、“以教促教”的良性循环,进一步增强了全县公民的国防意识。该县先后被评为全国“开发使用军地两用人才先进单位”,省、州级“拥军优属先进单位”和“征兵工作先进单位”,县人武部被评为“全国民兵、预备役工作先进单位”。
