关于斯达汉诺夫运动的产生原因,西方研究者主要从物质利益角度出发,认为是计件工资这种物质刺激的结果。根据斯达汉诺夫工作者当时的表述以及当代俄罗斯历史学家的观点,计件工资制度作为一种激励机制确实起到了一定作用,但从精神因素说,社会主义价值观是一种不可忽视的精神动力。长远看,精神动因要远大于物质动因。对于这个问题,仅仅用经济学并不能做出完整的解释。
