8月中旬,记者应吉林省食品工业局张局长的邀请赴吉林,计划对吉林省酿酒工业的发展状况做个调查。吉林酒业的龙头重点当然是通化葡萄酒,记者到吉林的第一站就是通化。通化葡萄酒厂是个有近60年历史的老企业,通化葡萄酒产品亦是在中国家喻户晓的老名牌。曾经有过辉煌的历史。但前几年葡萄酒整个行业不景气及其它原因,通化葡萄酒厂陷入了困境。作为酒业专业刊物,我们一直在关注着这个企业的情况,今年2月,通化葡萄酒总公司被通化东宝集团兼并。虽然记者在今年春季成都全国糖酒交易会上结识了东宝集团的总经理李一奎,也看到了通化葡萄酒股份有限公司宣传活动的浩大声势。然而没有到通化酒厂里看看,没有到东宝集团参观、考察一下,心中不免还是有些疑问:东宝是搞药的,搞酒他们行吗?

However, they did not have a look at the Tonghua Distillery. They did not visit the Dongbao Group, but they had some doubts: Dongbao was taking medicine. Did they engage in alcohol?
