隐喻是我们日常生活中几乎每天都会遇到的语言现象,可以说,人类语言整体上是一个隐喻性的符号系统。“语法隐喻”这一术语是韩礼德在系统功能语法里首先提出来的。根据韩礼德的理论,隐喻既存在于词汇中也存在于语法中。在表达中语法形式如发生变化,那么这一现象便是语法隐喻。本文从语法隐喻出发,将其与英语教学结合,并探讨语法隐喻在英语教学中起到的重要作用。
Metaphor is a linguistic phenomenon that is encountered almost daily in our daily life. It can be said that human language as a whole is a metaphorical symbolic system. The term “grammatical metaphor” is first introduced by Halliday in the functional grammar of the system. According to Halliday’s theory, metaphor exists both in the vocabulary as well as in the grammar. As the grammatical form changes in expression, then this phenomenon is a grammatical metaphor. This article starts from grammatical metaphor, combines it with English teaching, and discusses the important role of grammatical metaphor in English teaching.
