海明威是20世纪美国最伟大的作家之一。在美国,关于海明威及其作品的研究浩如烟海;在我国,研究和评论其人其作的文章也是卷帙浩繁、洋洋洒洒。一个作家和他的作品能引起读者和评论家如此兴趣的在20世纪并不多见。不过,纵览海明威评论与研究的文山书海,一个关于海明威自身结局——同样也是一个严肃的论题,却没有得到应有的深入与系统的分析和探讨。这个论题就是海明威的个人悲剧——自戕。
Hemingway was one of the greatest American writers in the 20th century. In the United States, there are numerous studies on Hemingway and his works. In our country, the articles that people study and comment on are also numerous and eloquent. It is rare in the 20th century for a writer and his work to attract so much interest from readers and critics. However, an overview of Hemingway’s commentary and research on Wenshan Shuhai and one on Hemingway’s own outcome, which is also a serious topic, has not been given any in-depth and systematic analysis and discussion. This topic is Hemingway’s personal tragedy - self-esteem.
