岫岩县示范繁殖农場在总結自己和群众的土豆生产經驗中,发現土豆与苞米套种时,由于土豆发芽期长,出苗慢,拖延了成熟期,不能早收,影响苞米的生长和适时培瓏。同时土豆生长后期又受高溫、干旱或多雨的影响,易染病毒,退化重,产量低,不利留种。为此我場从1959年开始,利用提前半个月将土豆切咸块,放在床內,培上土催芽,然后栽植的方法。經过5年的小区对比試驗和大面积的生产示范证明,比不催芽的,能提早出苗、結薯、开花、成熟,退化輕、产量高、繁种系数大。
