[Medical World Report, March 1985] According to a report by the U.S. Center for Infectious Diseases, nine hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections occurred in a county in Indiana from April 1 to December 30, 1984 , And 2 of them died. Of the nine patients, except one, they were treated by a dentist 3 to 5 months earlier, and the dentist later identified an HBsAg-positive person who did not have a conventional glove for his teeth. In addition to the 1 case of one of their family members who had evidence of HBV infection, none of these patients had a history of HBV risk and did not take hepatotoxic drugs. The dentist and seven patients had negative delta-factor antibody and antigen tests.
