扬油2号原名88-5,系江苏里下河地区农科所从泰县油菜的天然变异株中经系统选育而成.1993年3月经扬州市农作物品种审定委员会审定通过.一、选育经过1983年从泰县油菜的大田中干成熟期选择天然变异株,每株收取主轴菜籽,当年秋播时分株种植.后经多年单株及集团选择,育成高产、耐病、含油率较高的黄籽白菜型油菜.1987～1989年参加品系比较试验,1989～1992年先后参加扬州市区域试验、江苏省早熟品种预试组试验、生产试验,同时进行大面积试种,目前在江苏、安徽等地种植面积达15万亩以上.
