稀土开发工业是在近年发展起来的。稀土在有色金属、钢铁及机械、石油化工、玻璃、陶瓷、皮毛、皮革和纺织等工业中应用很广泛,应大力开发。但是开发稀土矿,需开挖的地表面积比较大,产生大量的矿渣尾砂。由于大量开挖地表和堆积废弃物,改变了原来的地形地貌。而且堆积物结构疏松,固结程度不高,内摩擦角比原来有所降低,透水性强。如果堆积坡度较陡,在暴雨或冲击荷载等作用下,则易出现滑坡,造成水土流失。所以,设计稀土矿,必须要考虑到防治水土流失。

However, the development of rare earth mines, excavation of the surface area is relatively large, resulting in a large amount of slag tailings. Due to the large excavation of surface and accumulation of waste, changed the original topography. And the accumulation of loose structure, the degree of consolidation is not high, the internal friction angle decreased than the original, strong water permeability. If the steep slope of accumulation, in the heavy rain or impact under the action of load, prone to landslides, resulting in soil erosion. Therefore, the design of rare earth mine, we must take into account the prevention and control of soil erosion.
