2006年2月20日温家宝总理在建设社会主义新农村专题研讨班结业式上强调建设社会主义新农村必须实行城乡统筹。目前,城乡之间的基本矛盾仍然是农村经济和社会发展滞后,农民生活水平和消费水平落后于城市居民。针对统筹城乡发展所面临的困难,首先我们应该树立城乡统筹思路,打破城乡分割,建立统筹发展的城乡关系,其次加快城镇化建设的同时,大力推进新农村建设,同时发挥投融资作用,解决统筹城乡发展的资金瓶颈以推进城乡统筹发展。
February 20, 2006 Premier Wen Jiabao stressed the importance of building a new socialist countryside in urban and rural areas through the completion of the seminar on the construction of a new socialist countryside.
